2005 Chalk Hill Cabernet Franc Cabernet Franc is the parent of Cabernet Sauvignon and one of the five major varieties in Bordeaux. The grapes are generally more thin-skinned and a bit less acidic than Cab Sauvignon but have a similar flavor profile. The grapes for this wine were selected from Chalk Hill AVA in Northern Sonoma County.
This Cab Franc has rich fruit aromas of cherry and berry, a hint of spice, and a wonderful hint of vanilla. Ample acidity and tannin provide a full mouth feel. Enjoy with spicy foods like peppercorn crusted salmon and pungent cheeses. Drink now and through 2015.
